1757 birth (source: mary Blakeley tree, GenesReunited)largely based on Stephen's notes: Robert appears to be a coachmaker,1794: The origins of 18 Strutton Ground are probably strongly influenced by Robert Lloyd's wife Ann Wright who he married in 1794. Ann Wright's great-uncle was a goldsmith who never married and left a lot of money in trust to his brothers, and thence to their children.Ann's father Francis was a coach wheelwright like Robert Lloyd, but his two brothers were Silversmiths and Pawnbrokers in Finsbury in 1814. Robert and Ann probably looked at what Ann's uncles were doing, and thought pawnbroking might provide a good living!1794: Robert Lloyd senior married Ann Wright at St Margaret's Westminster in 1794 and left a will. Most of his children were also pawnbrokers ie Willliam Henry Lloyd's brothers inc Robert John Lloyd (he was older b c 1795 and had a separate shop) and John James Lloyd b c1806.1794 14 April: source of date Mary Blakeley tree in GenesReunited1823: The Lloyd family's origins as pawnbrokers that I know are that William Henry Lloyd and his father Robert Lloyd were in partnership at 18 Strutton Ground from 1823. There is a Robert Lloyd (senior) who lived at 13 Little Chapel Street, Westminster and is described as a coach maker and pump maker.1826: Robert Lloyd senior's co-partnership with his 2nd son William Henry Lloyd dissolves (more details under WILLIAM HENRY LLOYS notes).1827: Aug 7th, burial at St. Margaret, WestminsterWill: Sept 7th, 1827, London1840: by this date Robert Lloyd has died since not mentioned in his sons will (dated 1840) whereas his mother Mary Ann Lloyd nee Lock is mentioned.1841: Ann Wright (wife) found in 1841Census with 2 sons but without husband; further confirmation that seems Robert Lloyd senior has died by this date. First son Robert John Lloyd in 1841 Census: showing him living with mother and described as pawnbroker.1841 Criminal Records: JOHN JAMES LLOYD(4th son) . I am a pawnbroker, and live at No. 18, Strutton-ground. I have a pair of boots, pawned by the prisoner for 1s. 6d., on the 20th of August, in the after part of the day.

So I think she was driving force for the change of career for husband Robert Lloyd (formerly coachmaker).
