1939:Nationa archive D1344/2/19 23 Mar 19391 doc Contents: Appointment of New Trustees1 Joseph Fowler of Bridport, farmerArthur Vernon Mullings of Westminster, jewellerDoris Gertrude Mullings and Katherine Irene Lee of Lewes, SussexNote from Sue Burton: who refers to her Aunt Dot (Doris Gertrude Mullings), and states she was the older sister to (Sue's father) Arthur Vernon Mullings."Doris Gertrude Mullings, (our Father'(arthur vernon mullings)'s eldest sister) lived at Bridport Dorset and was (Hubert) Joseph Fowler's housekeeper. She subsequently married (Hubert) Joseph Fowler when she was in her 60's, and I don't think that Joseph had ever been married before that. It was the first marriage for them both. I don't know why Auntie Dot (as we always called her) would have been housekeeper to Joseph Fowler unless the connection was Florence Gwendoline Fowler being married to Vernon de Courcy McCarthy."

But (although not clear) also says she married a "Mr. Martin" (p314-316).I find the birth date of 1826 very doubtful - her father then was about 91 years old!Further research shows she was actually the daighter of Jeremiah J. McCarthy (her dates now fir).
